We make a lot of salad and pasta around our house, so we use tongs all the time. The cheap metal ones that I get at the local WallyWorld don't last long, and they have sharp edges that scratch my nonstick pans.
The BIGTHING kitchen tongs arrived quickly after I ordered them. The tongs are covered with silicone, so that they don't scratch my pots and pans. I like that the silicone is black, because this fits in with any kitchen decor. The silicone also grips food much better than plain metal tongs. The silicone on the tongs does not get as hot as the metal of regular tongs.
This set includes 3 sizes of tongs, as well as 2 small basting brushes. The tongs have a ring on the end that you can hang them by. The neat thing about this ring is that when you want to store the tongs, and you want to close them, you pull this ring out, and it closes the tongs. To open the tongs, just push it back in.
I have not used the basting brushes yet, but they will be handy for brushing marinades on meats or veggies while grilling.
