I am not a smoker, but my brother is. We live in West Texas, where the wind likes to blow. Trying to use a regular butane lighter outside can involve a bit of a dance. To use the lighter, charge it first for a couple of hours. Then to light the coil, just pull down on the button on the front of the lighter. The coil lights automatically and quickly. As soon as you let off the switch, the coil shuts off. Do not touch this coil with your finger. It will burn you.
